EXPOSITION:
This week, we have been looking at how the church can be equipped to play its role as an army of Christ in these end times. God has strategically positioned the church to ensure that His kingdom is established here on earth. To facilitate this process, He has placed leaders over the church. According to Ephesians 4:11, these leaders are the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers whom he has placed over the church.

The militant church like any other army going to battle must be thoroughly prepared and in the right uniform or attire. The attire an army wears gives it an identity. In the same regard, there is a prescribed uniform for the Christian soldier. This uniform comprises the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace as your shoes, the shield of faith, the

helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit. The church militant, cannot pick and choose which ones to wear but must put on the whole armour. It is then that the Lord will be able to stand against the devil’s schemes and become victorious.

Thank you Lord for equipping me throughout this week to live my life as a member of your militant church. 

MEMORY VERSE FOR THE WEEK: Ephesians 6:12-13 (NIV) – For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Equipping The Church As An Army SCRIPTURE REFERENCE: Ephesians 4:10-14. EXPOSITION: Equipping is a fundamental requirement for battle. It covers the totality of doctrine, principles, values, and physical resources necessary for combat against opposing forces. An equipped soldier is confident of success on the battlefield. This confidence stems from knowledge and faith in the resources they have been endowed with to confront the enemy effectively. Against this backdrop, the Church as an institution is a rallying point and equipping centre where people are made ready for service through purposive teaching and sharing of experience. EXPOSITION: The major focus of Vision 2023 is premised on the understanding that the local church is the focal point for most of the church’s spiritual life and developmental activities.
